  1. United Nations’ International Day of Living Together in Peace is celebrated annually on 16 May to encourage peace, tolerance, inclusivity, understanding, and solidarity among individuals and communities globally.
  2. National Dengue Day is annually observed across India on 16 May to create awareness about dengue among general public and to promote preventive measures against dengue.
  3. International Day of Light is annually observed on 16 May to celebrate the contribution of light in science, culture and art, education, and sustainable development, and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications, and energy. 
  4. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit took over as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (DCAS) on 15 May, 2023.
  5. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on 16 May, 2023 attended 1st Ministerial Meeting of Indo-EU Trade and Technology Council (Indo-EU TTC) in Brussels.

  11. The traditional game of Gatka is set to receive a major boost on a national level as it has been officially included in the 37th National Games 2023, which are scheduled to take place in Goa in October of 2023.
